A beautiful Costa Rican Caturra & Catuaí micro-lot, from Olman Ureña’s Finca Toñita farm in the Tarrazú region, and processed at Palchimal Micro Mill. Olman has farmed coffee for more than 40 years, and recently Palchimal has experimented with his coffee, resulting in outstanding coffees like this one.
Tastes like strawberry and smooth caramel, candy sweet with lovely texture, and sparkling acidity to brighten up the cup.
A light roast, suited to filter or Aeropress, and best served black.
Roast style: light
Caturra & Catuaí varieties
Growing altitude: 1450 MASL
Honey anaerobic process
James's Opinion: Strawberries and caramel - cant go wrong! Filter only and my choice is french press. Grind very coarse (like rock salt) and once poured let it sit for 4 minutes before you push down. Try black to get the flavour and try to stick to 2 scoops of coffee per person. if it tastes too bland then add a bit more coffee - go for heaped scoops instead and try again - remember each coffee is different. but with the above you should get a gorgeous aroma immediately and delicious taste.
